Small update, older song.

So in the coming days, I'll be posting about repairs/upgrades to my fursuit in anticipation of Anthrocon 2011.  As far as my depth into the fandom goes, I just enjoy the artwork, costuming, and aesthetics of it all.  I'm not one of those crazies that think they have an animal soul or whatever.
My fursuit!  No name, no character, just a foxy wolf thing! (Older photo.  Tail and arms have been fixed)
AC 10 was my first furry con.  I had always wanted to go, but all my friends were all "ew furries derp" so I had no one to go with.  Last year my girlfriend brought it up and we went and had a blast.  There is so much to do and see!  Lot's of arts and creativity and shwag to buy!  I've seen fursuits before, but after seeing them in person and hugging some of them, I had to have one. I didn't even know why! Maybe it's the feeling of looking cute, but being somewhat anonymous?  I don't know.

I knew the only route I could take was making my own because comissions are expensive and I wanted it to come out my way. Then came the agonizing construction.  I won't bore you all with the details here, but some of the in progress photos are on my flickr account.  (many thanks to my family and loving girlfriend for support!)

Repairs needed will be the focus of my next post when I have time to take photos.

A quick rundown of features....
-Fan in muzzle blows air out
-tail is attatched to a belt that is removable so the suit doubles as a partial.
-plastic mesh construction with some wire for support, foam on cheeks and feet
-eyes used to light up, but I scrapped it because I couldn't see with them lit
-I did my best to make a slight digitgrade (reverse knees) on the legs.  I think it looks good for my first try. Can't really see it in these pictures though so I'll include a photo in my next update.

Finally here is an older song I made on my Nintendo DS.  Not the best thing, but I thought it was the bee's knees back when I made it.

Just a song

I have put together a fairly nice little studio in my gameroom.  After years of playing rhythm games, I decided I'd like to try making music.
That's over $1500 worth of electronic goodies on my table.  Here's a break down;

The keyboard at the top is just an electronic keyboard.  Below that is a Microkorg XL synthesizer. Below that is a Korg Electribe EMX (the heart of my setup).  To the right of that is a Kaoss Pad 3.  Above that is my Nintendo DSi XL with the Korg DS-10 synth running on it.  Finally at the bottom left is my mixer where all the audio signals come together.

Due to time restraints, I've only made a few songs on the DS-10 so far (remember these songs are coming solely from a Nintendo DS!).  Here is my latest one.
Double Scoop by Zemata

So let me know what you think.  Expect bigger and better things when I have time to use my more expensive toys.  Any other aspiring musicians viewing?

My thoughts on Nintendo 3DS, and a figure from Transformers 3 Dark of The Moon

My fabulous Nintendo 3DS! (in crappy resolution :D)

First off, please excuse the photo quality on my little bloglett here.  I'm just starting out. Now I know the 3DS has been out for a bit, but I just wanted to share my quick impressions of my launch unit.
The main menu
This thing is shiny and nice to look at.  The 3D is very well implemented (especially in Dream Trigger 3D) and I'm still getting over the no glasses thing.  If you see a demo unit in your travels, check it out.

It plays all my old DS games, takes 3D photos, plays music, and will do even more when updates are released.  Really fun to show off to friends and relatives.

The stylus is longer than even the XL's but feels a little thinner.  I haven't had any issues with short battery life like some have.  My only concerns are how much of a smudge magnet this thing is, and the lack of launch games that interest me.  I bought SSFIV 3D and hated it.  I know it's good, but not my cup of tea.
Psychedelic!
And lastly here's a shot of "Dream Trigger 3D".  This game is tough and brings games like Rez and Lumines to mind.  Very trippy.

So overall is the 3DS worth it?  I'd say not yet!  There really isn't much out for it now, and some features expected in an update are taking a bit too long, but the thing is sexy and I'm glad to be playing my old DS games on it.
Roadbuster alt mode
Lastly here is Roadbuster from the upcoming Transformers movie.  One of the wreckers, this guy is amazing for a deluxe class figure.  Cool head sculpt (reminds me of Spartan 117, lol), (mostly) nice paint, smooth transformation, and decent kibble management. Some people have been complaining about poor paint apps though.  If you leave the store hunting for DoTM toys, this guy should come with you.  Head over to my flickr to see bot mode!

Finally I leave you with a question.  How do you guys prep for photography?  Natural lighting?  Photo box?  Give me all the details!

I have a blog!

Hey friends!  This is where I will be posting things I find interesting, or things I have created related to plastic, music, toys, and video games!  I like costuming and cosplaying too so you can expect to see that stuff as well.
